Patricia Griffin, Artistic
Director and contralto, has performed with orchestras throughout the US,
most notably with Cleveland Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, New York
Philharmonic, Chautauqua Symphony, Hartford Symphony, Pittsburgh Oratorio
Society and Utah Symphony. Her operatic engagements have included
appearances with Pittsburgh Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Pennsylvania Opera Theater, Mississippi Opera, Eugene Opera, Detroit
Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Opera Omaha, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera
and Wichita Music Theater.
She made her European
debut at the American Academy in Rome,
Italy as a
recitalist and was invited to repeat the same program for the MIT Noontime
Series. She was featured in National Public Radio broadcasts with Cleveland
Orchestra (Prokofiev-War and Peace), Cincinnati Opera (Floyd-Susannah), and
Pittsburgh Symphony (Haydn-Harmoniemesse) and appeared in three LIVE FROM
LINCOLN CENTER broadcasts (Beethoven-Symphony No. 9, Prokofiev-Alexander
Nevsky and Moussorgsky-Boris Goudinov, and Marilyn Horne Songbook).
Ms. Griffin holds a BS
in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an MFA from Carnegie-Mellon University
